Foreign friends and users of the INM:
In recent days, the INM has received several inquiries from Americans living in Mexico as “Inmigrado”, noting that they have reported that they have until July 30th, 2010 to change their type FM2 book for the new credential for immigrants with the risk of losing their status if they don’t do it on time.
We inform you that there is no deadline for aliens to change their type FM2 book (Permanent Resident status) for the new FM2 Resident credential. This change is entirely voluntary and it is only mandatory if the FM2 is lost or too damaged.
